Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is a week in May dedicated to increasing the awareness of privacy issues and promoting general education and discussion relating to information privacy.
PAW was started in 2006 by Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) and each member has organised events each year since.
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has announced PAW 2017 will be held in the third week of May. This will give participants the opportunity to attend several privacy-focused events running throughout the week.
It is a great chance for us all to think about the information we currently share, the degree to which we want our information protected, and to learn practical methods to help ensure the protection of our privacy and information.
CryptoAUSTRALIA is proudly participating in PAW 2017 by hosting an event on the 18th May. Join us for a thought-provoking night at our screening of The Guardian's "The Power of Privacy" followed by a roundtable discussion with a panel of privacy experts. Tickets are available online and at the door.

The event is also sponsored by Mercury ISS, a Sydney-based information security consulting firm
