Hacking Elections for Fun and Profit (audio)

Trump is President... with a little help from Putin. The Russian Government carried out an extensive campaign to influence the US Presidential Election. This included infiltrating the systems of political parties and election management bodies. These activities raised questions about whether Russia may have compromised e-voting systems to rig the election, and reignited the debate on the trustworthiness of election technology.

Dr Roland Wen gives a rundown of what happened in the US and the problems with their e-voting systems, as well as Internet voting and other election technology used in Australia. Dr Roland Wen also discusses concerns over privacy, integrity, transparency and trust.

Wen's talk was recorded on the CryptoParty Meetup in February 2017
