Are you applying for a new job? Does your profile disclose more than it should? What are your social media privacy settings? Do you list your full name and date of birth in your online profiles? Your contributions on social media can have un-intended consequences.
As part of Privacy Awareness Week (14 – 20 May) celebrations, the Office of the Information Commissioner (QLD), will be hosting Digital Self-Defence and Privacy Workshops to encourage people to take control of their personal information, and learn how to protect it.
CryptoAUSTRALIA is proud to contribute to these celebrations with three digital privacy workshops on the 16 May at 9:30 am/11:30 am/1:30 pm in Brisbane.
Our 90-minute workshops will focus on the importance of privacy in the data age, information that various social media platforms harvest and techniques on minimising your personal data footprint.
During the workshop, our workshop instructor, Ed Yuwono, will show participants how to:
- clean up their mischievous Facebook photos, comments and likes
- dig into their Gmail account to find clear-text passwords, non-expiring password reset links and other sensitive material
- dig into Twitter to identify and delete sensitive tweets from the past.
What you need to bring?
You will be required to bring your own laptop. Note: There are limited charging stations so make sure your laptop is fully charged.
Numbers limited to 40 per session.
